BENGALURU: Ashish Nehra, current bowling coach of RCB, has been appointed as coach and will be joining Gary Kirsten as a Coach for New Season.
Ashish Nehra who has associated with RCB in last season has been confirmed as a coach and will be part of the coaching leadership team along with Gary Kirsten.
He said, “I had the privilege to join the coaching team of RCB last season and feel very passionately about the team. I want to thank the team management for considering me in a leadership position with the franchise and look forward to the successful seasons ahead.”
Former India pacer Ashish Nehra has played in all formats of the game for India and had been a part of the Indian Cricket team in two mostly successful World Cup Tournaments, three ICC Champions Trophy tournaments, and two Asia Cups.
The left-arm fast bowler had also represented various IPL teams in the past including Mumbai Indians (2008), Delhi Daredevils (2009–2010), Pune Warriors (2011–2012), again DD (2013), CSK (2014–2015) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016–2017).
RCB Chairman Sanjeev Churiwala said Kirsten and Nehra will assist Kohli to guide the team deliver better performance.
“We are very happy to have Ashish Nehra join RCB as part of the coaching leadership team. Ashish and Gary will partner the Captain to help the team deliver better performance,” he stated.
