On Thursday, Australia declared their last playing eleven for the third and final ODI against India on 18 January, Friday at the Melbourne. The three-match ODI series is currently leveled at 1-1 after India won the 2nd ODI by six-wicket at Adelaide on 15 January, Tuesday. India had come back in the series after defeat in the first ODI which was played at Sydney Cricket Ground.
In 2nd ODI, Shaun Marsh’s excellent century helped Australia score 298 runs. Shaun had made 131 runs in 123 balls with 11 fours and three sixes. While Chasing Australia’s 299 runs, Kohli and MS made an excellent partnership. Virat scored 39th hundred and MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten fifty to fire India to level the series by 1-1.
Australia will be hoping to win last and final ODI and end their two-year barren run without a series win when they take on India in the must-win clash. On the other hand, the momentum is strongly in India’s favor.
Hence for the series-decider match, Australia has made two changes to their playing eleven, they recalled Billy Stanlake and Adam Zampa.
Jason Behrendorff, who got back injury has been ruled out from final ODI. He has been replaced by Billy Stanlake. Behrendorff picked three wickets in the first two ODIs and played a very important role to win first match by 34-runs. However, Adam Zampa replaces Nathan Lyon who failed to take a single wicket in the first two games. Kane Richardson also called into the squad as cover.
